Engineer Intern
About the job
- Experience with computer-aided design, preferably using a three-dimensional software package.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Mathematical skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Working toward a technical engineering degree; a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk up to a quarter mile at a time.
- Ability to bend, squat, and reach as needed.
- Design, manufacture, and test products using predetermined engineering calculations, three-dimensional drawing software, and laboratory tools to develop custom designs that meet industry specifications and requirements as determined by a mentoring engineer.
- Assist manufacturing engineers with production of custom designs in a production environment.
- Work independently on machine and/or process design projects.
- Prepare technical drawings.
- Determine labor estimates.
- Run prototype parts through manufacturing.
- Design components as needed.
- Work on assigned tasks related to large-scale engineering projects.
- Complete small-scale engineering projects independently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A three-dimensional computer-aided design software package is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferred.
