KingsLane Group, which is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, has acquired the Hilton Garden Inn at 905 E. Hawkins Parkway in Longview. "A lot of hotel investment still chases the big gateway cities, but some of the most dependable performance we see is in places like Longview, where the local economy runs on real businesses rather than tourism cycles. Those markets tend to get overlooked, which means well-run hotels in them are often undervalued," said Nitin Khanna, managing principal of KingsLane Group. "That's been our thinking with Longview - we invest in hotels with a long-term perspective, and that shapes how we create an exceptional experience for our guests, our team and the wider Longview community." The Hilton Garden Inn Longview features 122 guest rooms and is near U.S 259, about 10 minutes from downtown. Its location places the hotel in close proximity to major health care providers, business parks, educational institutions and commercial centers that contribute to the city's year-round visitor demand. Amenities include an indoor pool with a lazy river and children's play area, a 24-hour fitness center, an on-site restaurant and bar, and business facilities. The Hilton Garden Inn features four meeting rooms and 7,350-square-feet of total event space. - Business Beat appears Wednesday. Corewell names child ambassador as grants reach $1.2M. Port Huron Times Herald Sept. 25, 2026, 4:45 a.m. ET Corewell Health Children's has awarded nearly $1.2 million in Children's Miracle Network grants to support about 60 pediatric programs across Southeast Michigan, while also naming a new child ambassador whose story highlights the impact of the funding. The grants will support programs at Corewell Health Children's locations during the fall and winter seasons, according to a community announcement. The health system also introduced Levi Kneisler of Cottrellville Township as its 2027 Children's Miracle Network Child Ambassador. Levi was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2025 and has undergone chemotherapy and frequent hospital visits since then. His family travels more than an hour from St. Clair County to Royal Oak for treatment. The announcement said that care teams at the Skandalaris Family Center for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Proton Therapy Center have helped support Levi throughout treatment. Since 1988, Children's Miracle Network has partnered with Corewell Health Foundation Southeast Michigan, helping raise more than $95 million for pediatric care, research and technology. Corewell Health said that more than 320,000 children in the region benefit annually from programs and services supported through the partnership. "The success of Corewell Health's Children's and CMN's partnership relies upon the generosity of the entire community," Matthew Denenberg, chief of pediatrics for Corewell Health, said in the announcement. "Individuals, corporate partners and hospital team members all contribute critical funds to advance pediatric care and create new opportunities for innovation. Together, we can provide exceptional care that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families." Grants support dozens of pediatric programs. Twice each year, pediatric nurses, physicians and clinical leaders seek grant funding through Corewell Health Children's and Children's Miracle Network for new and existing programs. The latest round of funding, awarded in August, will help pay for initiatives including: * Education and training for new neonatal intensive care unit nurse practitioners. * School-based food pantries. * An annual Bike Day program that provides custom bikes to children. * Specialized medical equipment for infants. * Additional pediatric health services and programs. According to the announcement, donations from community members and corporate partners make the grants possible. Major Children's Miracle Network partners in Southeast Michigan include Speedway, Costco, Walmart and Sam's Club, Ace Hardware, RE/MAX, Panda Express, Dairy Queen and Marriott International. The businesses collect donations through retail fundraising campaigns, and employee and customer giving programs. Corewell Health Children's is the only Children's Miracle Network member hospital in Southeast Michigan. This story was produced with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
