  • Ability to meet the listed physical and environmental demands, including occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, frequent standing and walking, and exposure to clinical hazards, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement continuing education and training opportunities for assigned areas of nurses and staff.
  • Assess the educational and training needs of assigned clinical areas.
  • Assist in determining development and training needs for assigned clinical areas to evaluate and improve competence and quality of care.
  • Act as a knowledge resource for nurses, interns, staff, patients, and patients' family members.
  • Develop, plan, and evaluate compliance with mandatory annual in-service training for employees in accordance with policies, procedures, and practice standards, in collaboration with the department of hospital education.
  • Function as or arrange for a preceptor for new nurse employees in assigned clinical areas.
  • Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or the work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
