Requirements
  • A master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Sociology, Psychology, or a related discipline, and five or more years of research or professional experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Effective writing, analytic, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience conducting focus groups.
Responsibilities
  • Report to a principal investigator of sponsored projects.
  • Exercise considerable latitude and independent judgment in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the research core.
  • Serve as a consultant and provide technical expertise in scientific theory, research, and methods of collection and analysis of data sets for a variety of research projects.
  • Use advanced knowledge of research methodology and techniques to provide leadership in the planning and development of survey instruments, guidelines, and procedures to collect required data.
  • Coordinate various aspects of the study.
  • Routinely develop research protocols.
  • Review and edit text for studies.
  • Conduct extensive literature searches and effectively summarize reported research findings and their applicability to the research.
  • Coordinate research and intervention activities with the team.
  • Provide direction to consultants and team members.
  • Coordinate and conduct special meetings.
  • Develop and conduct presentations, represent Emory at national meetings, and co-author publications.
  • Collaborate on or author reports and papers.
  • Perform related responsibilities as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working as a coordinator on clinical trials.
  • Experience independently managing the complex research administration activities associated with the conduct of clinical trials and clinical research.
  • Experience managing and supporting the conduct of social and behavioral research in a clinical setting.
  • Experience managing and executing multiple projects and working with senior health policy makers and executives is preferred.
