Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or one year of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to use and care for equipment including printers, embossers, and computers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, and walk during an 8–12 hour shift.
  • Ability to work closely with others, protracted or irregular hours, biohazards, infectious diseases, and hands in water.
  • May be required to travel between facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms, obtain initial information and vital signs, and prepare patients for physician visits.
  • Prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assist with or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and set up referral contacts as needed.
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain required quality-control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
  • Perform office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, depositing cash, and other closing duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework.
  • One year of healthcare experience.
