Entry Level Part Time IT Support Technician @ Generac

The Entry Level Part Time IT Support Technician provides day-to-day technical support to staff, including installing software, setting up equipment, and troubleshooting hardware and connectivity issues. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users. Based in Zeeland, MI, the technician may occasionally travel to other company locations as needed.

What's the job?

Install and configure software applications across various platforms.
Set up and deploy new desktop and laptop equipment.
Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics.
Provide end-user support for routine desktop, printer, and connectivity issues.
Maintain documentation of support tasks and system configurations.
Assist with general IT operations, including inventory and system checks.
Train and educate customers on use of equipment and value of products and services provided.
Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations.
This position reports to a specified Wolverine location-Zeeland, MI, but occasional travel to other WPS locations may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
1+ Years of IT support
1+ Years of Customer Service Experience

Physical Demands:

May spend extended periods on their feet while troubleshooting or setting up systems across departments.
Precision is key when handling small components, connecting cables, or repairing hardware.
Occasionally crouch under desks to access cables, ports, or server racks.
Frequently lift and move equipment like monitors, CPUs, printers, and networking gear often weighing up to 25 pounds
Prolonged screen time and close-up work with small parts require good vision and attention to detail.
Hearing ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking level with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly working in a typical interior/office work environment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation:

Wolverine Power Systems is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This role is eligible for variable compensation including short-term and long-term incentives.
