Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- A Certified Public Accountant license is required.
- At least five years of broad accounting and financial experience, including people leadership, is required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles, financial statement preparation, and internal controls is required.
- Knowledge and experience working with enterprise resource planning systems is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel, is required.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, is required.
- The ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends for special assignments, is required.
Responsibilities
- Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close review, overseeing record-to-report deliverables prepared by the managed service provider, including journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ensure accurate and useful financial and management reporting for internal, external, lender, and Board use.
- Manage annual external financial statement audits and other regulatory audits, serving as the primary auditor contact and coordinating requests across internal teams and the managed service provider.
- Coordinate with the external tax provider by preparing and providing financial data, schedules, and supporting documentation for federal, state, and local tax returns; review draft returns and respond to tax inquiries as needed.
- Support treasury activities, including cash reporting, review of bank reconciliations, covenant compliance, and preparation of reporting materials for the bank.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls across the end-to-end accounting process, including controls performed by the managed service provider for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and record-to-report.
- Monitor managed service performance against agreed service levels and key performance indicators, escalating issues and partnering with the provider on corrective actions and process improvements.
- Lead and develop the AP Controls & T&E Accountant, who oversees accounts payable controls, governance, and travel and expense compliance in partnership with the India-based accounts payable team; set goals and objectives, coach, and foster a collaborative and results-driven culture.
- Partner with the managed service accounts payable and accounts receivable teams to resolve issues, ensure proper cutoff and accruals, and maintain documented policies, procedures, and desk manuals.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and financial forecasts, and support gross margin and profit and loss analysis as needed.
- Identify and drive process improvement and automation opportunities, including within D365 and the managed service model.
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of public accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience working with or overseeing outsourced, shared service, or offshore accounting teams is preferred.
- D365 experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience using artificial intelligence tools, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude, to automate tasks, improve analysis, or streamline accounting processes is preferred.
