Requirements
Two years of experience operating survey instruments, collecting information in the field, and performing field computations.
High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Comprehensive knowledge of ALTA, boundary, and topographic surveying, construction staking, and GPS for land development projects.
Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.
Ability to use various types of survey equipment.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability and willingness to travel and work in other cities, including urban and remote areas.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather, walk long distances, stand for extended periods, and lift or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Responsibilities
Research project information.
Review and evaluate survey field notes with guidance from Professional Surveyors.
Prepare survey documents and computations associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, and related work.
Prepare survey drawings and descriptions using AutoCAD and other related software packages.
Provide construction-related services, including interpreting construction plans, computing point data for field crews, and communicating with clients.
Use surveying terminology by reviewing applicable reference materials and location-specific statutes and requirements and communicating with other survey staff.
Organize and coordinate survey projects.
Travel to job sites in the Southeast Michigan area and throughout the United States.
Work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with overtime and weekends as required.
Desired Qualifications
An associate degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor or Surveyor in Training.
Overview
The Project Surveyor assists Project Managers by conducting office and field activities to support the survey team. This position is responsible for processing, analyzing and drafting survey data to assist with the creation of all types of land surveys, record drawings and construction calculations. Field work may be required as necessary.
Responsibilities
Researches project information.
Reviews and evaluates survey field notes with guidance from Professional Surveyors.
Prepares survey documents and computations associated with boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, etc.
Prepares survey drawings and descriptions utilizing AutoCAD and other related software packages as directed.
Provides construction-related services including: construction plan interpretation, compute point data to provide to field crews and communicate with Client.
Uses and understands surveying terminology by reviewing applicable reference materials and location specific statutes and requirements and by communicating with other survey staff.
Organizes and coordinates survey projects.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Licenses and Certifications
Associates degree in Surveying or Geomatics is preferred, but not required.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Registration as a Professional Land Surveyor or Surveyor in Training (SIT) is preferred but not required.
Knowledge and Experience
2 years of experience operating survey instruments and collecting information in the field and performing field computations.
Highly proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
A comprehensive knowledge of ALTA’s, Boundary, and Topographic surveying along with construction staking and GPS experience for land development projects.
Strong knowledge of land surveying principles and practices.

Availability
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., overtime and weekends as required.
Travel
As a part of performing this position’s duties, travel will be required to respective job sites in the Southeast Michigan Area and throughout the United States.
