About the Job

Requirements

  • Strong UI/UX product design craft across interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, accessibility and content, demonstrated through a portfolio showing thinking and outcomes.
  • Evidence of personally taking an ambiguous problem through flows, prototypes, feedback and iteration to an accepted or shipped result, including what was cut and why.
  • Direct client or senior-stakeholder experience, including uncovering needs, interpreting conflicting feedback, constructively challenging weak direction and following through without overpromising.
  • Demonstrable use of AI tools and agents in real work, studies or personal projects.
  • Ability to use AI coding tools to create working browser prototypes and test real interactions; prior frontend or backend experience is useful but not required.
  • Judgment to review AI output against the brief, user need, design system, accessibility standards and technical constraints.
  • Ability to identify repeated design and feedback work as workflows to improve.
  • High agency and follow-through, including making progress without a perfect brief, communicating early when blocked and finishing work reliably.
  • Clear written and verbal English, strong remote collaboration habits and reliable internet access.
  • A portfolio is essential.
  • A design degree is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own well-scoped product improvements from problem framing through accepted design, implementation-ready handoff and design quality assurance, using AI tools and agentic workflows by default.
  • Turn ambiguous client and internal requests into a clear user, problem, intended outcome, constraints, assumptions and acceptance criteria before polishing the output.
  • Produce an appropriate mix of flows, information architecture, wireframes, working prototypes, interaction design, high-fidelity user interfaces, design-system components and implementation-ready handoff.
  • Lead product and design aspects of client conversations within agreed boundaries; ask questions, present rationale and explain trade-offs.
  • Use feedback to improve designs by identifying the need behind comments, reconciling contradictions and deciding what to apply, adapt, test, defer or escalate.
  • Anticipate client needs by identifying missing states, unclear decisions, risks and likely questions before review, then provide considered recommendations.
  • Prototype real interactions quickly with AI coding assistants and design tools so the team can test behavior rather than debate static mock-ups.
  • Work with Account Management, Product, Engineering and Solutions to choose pragmatic solutions, understand feasibility and protect design intent through build review and quality assurance.
  • Learn existing product systems and follow established workflows to make routine, bounded updates, including technical steps where needed; escalate work outside that scope to Engineering.
  • Keep files, versions, decisions, source context and handoffs clear so people and agents can continue the work.
  • Own quality by critically reviewing AI-assisted work and surfacing accessibility, brand, rights, data, security, feasibility or delivery risks early.
  • Diagnose blockers before escalating, and provide context, options and a recommendation; do not make unapproved commitments about scope, fees, timings or release.
  • Write prompts, system messages, empty states, error states, microcopy and model-facing instructions as part of the design work.
  • Define successful outcomes, help make them measurable and use qualitative and quantitative signals to improve shipped work.
  • Contribute components and patterns that keep web and mobile products consistent, accessible and maintainable.
  • Improve working methods by encoding proven approaches into reusable skills and workflows for agents and teammates, and teach effective methods to the team.

Desired Qualifications

  • A portfolio with side projects, a small repository or a shipped AI experiment provides strong additional evidence.
  • Previous frontend or backend experience is useful but not required.
