Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience in account management or a client-facing role within a media or integrated agency.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing day-to-day account or project workstreams, including timelines, budgets, and status reporting.
  • Working knowledge of vendor briefing, statement-of-work documentation, and budget tracking.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to present updates in client and internal meetings.
  • Ability to partner effectively across creative, media, and integrated teams.
  • Proficiency with standard office and project management tools, such as Excel, PowerPoint, or agency project management platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of assigned accounts or campaign workstreams, keeping timelines, budgets, and deliverables on track.
  • Maintain accurate status documents, trackers, and contact reports, ensuring clear and timely updates follow every internal and client meeting.
  • Coordinate across creative, media, and integrated partners to keep workstreams aligned and moving on schedule.
  • Identify recurring process gaps and recommend improvements to team tools, templates, and ways of working.
  • Flag risks and roadblocks to the Account Supervisor or Director before they impact delivery.
  • Recommend and independently select vendors for defined categories based on project scope, budget, and fit.
  • Draft clear, detailed vendor briefs and statements of work outlining deliverables, timelines, and expectations.
  • Support vendor onboarding and day-to-day communication, ensuring timely approvals, feedback, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor vendor delivery against agreed statements of work and flag discrepancies to senior team members.
  • Manage budgets and cost tracking for assigned accounts or workstreams, flagging scope creep or budget risk as it arises.
  • Draft scopes and estimates with the Account Supervisor or Director, incorporating vendor quotes and internal resourcing needs.
  • Process and reconcile vendor invoices and personal expenses accurately and on time, following a three-quote process where required.
  • Support forecasting and financial reporting for accounts, ensuring documentation is accurate and client-ready.
  • Build strong day-to-day relationships with client contacts as a responsive and reliable point of contact.
  • Understand client priorities and business objectives at a macro level, and flag opportunities to the Account Supervisor or Director.
  • Contribute to organic growth ideas, proposals, and account plans alongside the team.
  • Support the planning and delivery of client engagement moments, such as quarterly business reviews, lunch-and-learns, and thought leadership sessions.

How agencies are reshaping junior-level roles and training in the AI era. Published 04.30.2026 * Artificial Intelligence * Culture * Future of the Agency * HR/Talent/Inclusion * Staff Development * Talent More than half of agencies pulled back on entry-level hiring as AI took over many tasks once handled by junior staff, with 57% reporting that they had slowed or paused hiring for such roles, a report last August showed. Stats like that have caused anxiety among emerging talent trying to enter the ad industry, but numbers don't paint a full picture. Experiential commerce agency Salt XC, for example, hired 100 employees within the last two months, with the majority being entry-level. Ad Age spoke with 18 agency executives, hiring managers and other industry leaders who are reworking their team structures to find new jobs and opportunities for juniors. Some of those opportunities have actually opened up as a result of AI. Other agencies are introducing apprenticeships and shadowing that offer training on higher-level skills that AI can't replace. "AI is in its infancy," said Allen & Gerritsen (A&G) CEO Andrew Graff, adding, "We're going to need a whole new set of skills." The 4As is also working on expanding The Face of Talent, its annual summer week of programming around talent initiatives, to provide more year-round training to help agencies restructure their workforces so they can continue to hire junior talent. "We're also going to be looking at things like organizational design within agencies. What does the new talent team need to look like?" said Justin Thomas-Copeland, CEO of the 4As. Canadian indie Salt XC buys US agency Craft & Commerce to expand media offerings

Toronto-based independent agency Salt XC has acquired Craft & Commerce, a full-service media agency with offices in New York, Chicago and Florida. This marks Salt XC's second US acquisition in a year as it expands its North American presence despite ongoing trade tensions between the US and Canada. The acquisition strengthens Salt XC's regional reach and media capabilities, combining experiential marketing with retail media expertise. Clients include Kraft-Heinz, AB InBev, Adidas and Chobani. Craft & Commerce will continue operating under its own name for now. Salt XC's previous acquisition of AI-driven agency Nectar First has enhanced its technological capabilities. Analyst Andrew Lipsman called the move a natural fit, noting both agencies' forward-thinking approach to retail media and experiential activation. Financial terms were not disclosed.
