Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles is preferred.
  • Deep hands-on experience with core Amazon Web Services services, including EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS/Aurora with MySQL and PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, and Secrets Manager.
  • Expert-level Terraform HashiCorp Configuration Language experience, including environment orchestration and workflow automation and state-management best practices.
  • Hands-on Aurora MySQL cluster management, including clustering, failover, storage scaling, and backups, with working knowledge of Aurora PostgreSQL and standalone RDS.
  • Strong networking experience with VPCs, routing, security groups, network access control lists, Transit Gateway, VPN, and Route 53.
  • Security expertise with IAM policies, service control policies, VPC isolation, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and encryption standards.
  • Experience with Docker image hardening, ECS/Fargate deployment patterns, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Ruby.
  • Working proficiency in Ruby on Rails and TypeScript to understand application requirements and troubleshoot AWS interactions.
Responsibilities
  • Own infrastructure architecture and standards, including naming, tagging, resource sizing, lifecycle management, and documentation, while auditing and closing gaps across environments.
  • Own internal and customer-facing cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, Transit Gateway, VPN, and Direct Connect, and define standards for secure inter-service connectivity.
  • Manage database infrastructure, including clustering, failover, encryption, backups, and performance tuning, with multi-Availability Zone high-availability strategies to meet recovery objectives.
  • Design and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies, including recovery time and recovery point targets, runbooks, and tested recovery processes, and build cost and FinOps reporting to drive AWS spending visibility.
  • Administer AWS IAM roles, policies, least-privilege access, and cross-account access, and enforce infrastructure security baselines in partnership with IT Security.
  • Co-own Terraform HCL infrastructure with SRE by writing modular, production-grade infrastructure as code and engaging with evolving workflow tooling such as Terragrunt and Spacelift.
  • Manage the IT-layer AWS footprint, including RPA server infrastructure and VDI, co-own GitHub administration, and partner with Full Stack engineers on AWS service selection, including Lambda, Fargate, App Runner, and ElastiCache.
