Requirements
  • MD in Medicine or Anaesthesia with 1-2 years of experience in critical care, or MD with a fellowship in critical care.
  • 0-5 years of experience in critical care at a reputed hospital.
  • Ability to perform central line insertion, intravenous channelization, and intubation.
  • Ability to operate critical care equipment such as ventilators.
  • Knowledge of clinical safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols.
  • Ability to assess new intensive care unit admissions and manage pain relief protocols where required.
  • Availability to follow the department’s on-call and duty schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care, including routine and emergency coverage, in the critical care unit.
  • Perform critical care procedures such as central line insertion, intravenous channelization, and intubation, and operate critical care equipment such as ventilators.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols.
  • Monitor and manage critically ill patients, respond promptly to changes in their condition, and report complex health issues to the concerned consultant.
  • Participate in daily rounds independently or alongside consultants, follow up on patient care plans, and implement necessary changes.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed treatment sheets, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Communicate with patients, families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to support high-quality patient care.
  • Assist in the assessment of new admissions to the intensive care unit and manage pain relief protocols where required.
  • Follow the department’s on-call and duty schedule as assigned.
