Requirements
  • A terminal degree in Architecture from a professionally accredited institution recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation.
  • Professional licensure in architecture.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in architectural practice.
  • Evidence of engagement in community-based, public-interest, or applied design work.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students in a professional-practice context.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver professionally grounded coursework in architectural practice, including project delivery, ethics, and practice operations.
  • Provide mentorship to students pursuing internships, licensure pathways through the Architectural Experience Program and Architect Registration Examination, and career placement.
  • Lead or contribute to community-engaged design studios and initiatives in partnership with local organizations, public agencies, and nonprofit stakeholders.
  • Translate real-world challenges into applied learning experiences.
  • Cultivate and sustain industry and community partnerships to expand experiential learning opportunities and workforce development pipelines.
  • Contribute to National Architectural Accrediting Board accreditation and assessment efforts through documentation of professional practice and engagement activities.
  • Participate in applied research and School-wide initiatives that connect students to practice-based and community-centered work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior teaching experience in an accredited architecture program.
  • Demonstrated success in developing industry and/or community partnerships.
  • Experience with community design practice.
  • Familiarity with National Architectural Accrediting Board accreditation standards and processes.
