Requirements
  • An associate degree in Instrumentation & Controls or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial automation, controls integration, or oil and gas environments is required.
  • Experience programming programmable logic controller and remote terminal unit systems, particularly Allen-Bradley and Rockwell platforms, is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, wiring diagrams, and piping and instrumentation diagrams is required.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting automation and electrical systems is required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; the role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze automation, electrical, instrumentation, and industrial network systems.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, project scopes, and field conditions.
  • Ability to manage project milestones and support project delivery.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and work in industrial and field environments, including standing and climbing around operational equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Program and configure programmable logic controller and remote terminal unit hardware used in industrial automation systems.
  • Develop and troubleshoot automation solutions using Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, Logix 500, and Allen-Bradley platforms.
  • Configure and maintain human-machine interface systems, including Rockwell, Red Lion, and Beijer Electronics.
  • Integrate automation equipment with plant control systems and field instrumentation.
  • Create and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Design control panels and systems to Underwriters Laboratories specifications.
  • Use AutoCAD Electrical for drafting and documentation.
  • Design and support industrial network infrastructure, including Ethernet, copper, and fiber-optic cabling.
  • Support installation, startup, and commissioning of automation systems in operational facilities.
  • Troubleshoot motor control circuits, electrical systems, and automation equipment.
  • Configure and troubleshoot serial communications and industrial networks.
  • Install and integrate process instrumentation and measurement systems.
  • Work with process transmitters, multimeters, process meters, and HART communication tools.
  • Apply practices for noise isolation, grounding, and signal integrity.
  • Work with systems operating in hazardous locations and ensure proper wiring and compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and customers to complete projects to specification.
  • Coordinate system integration efforts across engineering, operations, and field teams.
  • Assist with planning project timelines, estimating resources, and supporting project delivery.
  • Provide direction and mentorship to Instrumentation Technicians as needed.
  • Assign tasks based on team member skill sets and support quality workmanship on installations.
  • Promote safety practices and company culture on job sites.

  • Familiarity with hazardous-location wiring and safety practices.
  • Experience designing and installing industrial networking infrastructure.
