Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Membership in the Quebec Order of Engineers (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in transport and traffic engineering, ideally acquired within a consulting engineering firm.
  • Proven experience in modeling and simulation of traffic conditions using Synchro and VISSIM software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and design software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (spoken, read, and written) for occasional mandates outside of Quebec.
  • Demonstrated strategic vision and strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and promote traffic engineering services by designing strategic and innovative solutions to optimize urban mobility.
  • Mentor, inspire, and guide junior engineers and technicians by sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Manage complex traffic projects by ensuring effective coordination with experts in transport, road engineering, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and traffic signals.
  • Participate in the preparation of service offers and tender documents to develop impactful proposals.
  • Identify issues and propose avant-garde solutions for sustainable mobility across all transport modes including road, collective, and active transport.
  • Contribute to the development of optimized geometric design concept plans for intersections.
  • Support the team with in-depth documentary research to feed analyses and strengthen recommendations.
  • Conduct traffic impact studies and evaluate the capacity of intersections and road networks to improve fluidity.
  • Supervise and perform in-depth analyses of intersections and road infrastructure, considering traffic flows and safety issues.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of phasing and timing plans for traffic lights.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop mobility solutions adapted to community needs and modern infrastructure.
  • Supervise and perform advanced transport modeling at micro and meso scales using specialized software such as VISSIM, AIMSUN, SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, Sidra, TRANSCAD, or VISUM.
  • Conduct road safety audits and collision analyses to identify corrective measures.
  • Oversee the writing of high-quality technical reports and design impactful presentations for clients and partners.
  • Plan, monitor, and ensure the optimal execution of mandates while respecting deadlines, budgets, and performance objectives.
