Help us lead the renewable heat revolution! Octopus Energy Services is bringing next-gen heat pump technology to homes nationwide as we drive the transition to greener, cheaper energy for all. Our installers are at the forefront of this clean energy transformation.
We now have an opening for an experienced Heat Pump Trainer to develop and deliver state-of-the-art training programs supporting our heat pump installation teams across the UK. You’ll combine technical expertise with stellar presentation abilities to coach crews on latest best practices.
In this role, you’ll deliver classroom and hands-on training for heat pump products, covering engineering theory, pre-installation surveys, hydraulic system design, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and more. Programs will equip teams with the confidence, competence and customer service skills for first-class deployments.

What you’ll do
- Deliver technical classroom training on heat pump systems
- Develop practical, hands-on workshops
- Create presentations, training manuals integrating latest techniques
- Stay on top of industry standards and new product features
- Assess teams’ proficiencies and upgrade skills accordingly
- Gather feedback to enhance training experiences
What you’ll need (the essentials)
- Industry experience installing/servicing heat pumps
- MCS certification for heat pump installation
- Additional qualification in domestic heat pump systems
- Strong presentation abilities - engage diverse learners
- Exceptional technical knowledge of products/standards

- Passion for coaching and capabilities building
- Organised, analytical and creative approach
- Drive to lead in sustainable energy education
Desirable but not essential
- Specific experience with domestic air source heat pumps
- Qualifications such as water regs, Hot water (G3), Heat pumps, TAQA
