Conduent completes $447M refinancing, clearing path to achieve its strategic plan.

Conduent completes $447M refinancing, clearing path to achieve its strategic plan. ROI-NJ Staff(Florham Park) October 23, 2026 Conduent Inc., a global technology-driven business solutions and services company based in Florham Park, announced Oct. 23 the closing of a $447 million refinancing transaction. The deal extends the company's $357 million revolving credit facility through May 2029 and adds $90 million in additional commitments from its existing bank lenders, including a $15 million letter of credit facility, reflecting confidence in the company's strategy. Together with the company's recent and announced divestitures, including the use of proceeds to repay debt, these actions advance Conduent's strategy to deleverage and de-risk its business and create greater flexibility to execute ASCEND 2026-28, the company's strategic plan outlined at its recent Investor Day. The transaction establishes new revolving credit facilities with a group of existing bank lenders and rolls certain commitments under the existing revolver into the new facilities, extending maturities from October 2026 and May 2028 to May 2029. The refinancing builds on Conduent's recently completed sale of its public transit business and the announced sale of its tolling business. Together, these portfolio actions and the refinancing are expected to reduce the company's surety bond and letter-of-credit portfolio by roughly $550 million upon completion of the announced tolling sale, significantly reducing financial encumbrances and releasing capital supporting those instruments. With maturities extended to 2029, Conduent can continue investing in its core businesses and executing ASCEND 2026-28, the company's plan to accelerate profitable growth by standardizing its operations, specializing in the core solutions where it can lead and win, and scaling its go-to-market capabilities. The company's government and commercial programs, which millions of people rely on every day, continue without interruption. "Deleveraging and de-risking are important priorities as we advance ASCEND 2026-28. We've extended our maturities, secured additional commitments from our banking partners and used divestiture proceeds to repay debt. Together with a meaningful reduction in our surety bond and letter-of-credit requirements, these actions strengthen our financial foundation and give us greater flexibility to invest in our core businesses and execute our strategy," said Harsha V. Agadi, Conduent president and chief executive officer. Lazard served as strategic adviser to Conduent.

Conduent completes $447M refinancing, extending credit facility to May 2029

Conduent has completed a $447 million refinancing, extending its $357 million revolving credit facility through May 2029. The deal adds $90 million in new commitments from existing bank lenders, including a $15 million letter of credit facility. The transaction replaces credit facilities due to mature in October 2026 and May 2028. Lazard advised Conduent. It follows the sale of the company's Public Transit business and the announced sale of its Tolling business. Once the Tolling sale closes, these moves are expected to cut Conduent's surety bond and letter-of-credit portfolio by about $550 million. "Deleveraging and de-risking are important priorities as we advance ASCEND 2026–28," said chief executive officer Harsha V. Agadi. The refinancing supports that strategic plan, which focuses on standardising operations and scaling go-to-market capabilities in government and commercial services.

FBI says SafePay ransomware gang 'among most active' with more than 600 victims since 2024.

FBI says SafePay ransomware gang 'among most active' with more than 600 victims since 2024. At least 600 organizations across the U.S. and Europe have been breached by the SafePay ransomware gang since August 2024, according to a new advisory from international law enforcement agencies. The FBI and cybersecurity agencies in Germany as well as the U.K. said SafePay is now "among the most active ransomware groups in 2026" and is targeting businesses and critical infrastructure by guessing passwords, exploiting vulnerabilities and using phishing attacks. The advisory was created based on numerous FBI and German law enforcement investigations involving SafePay, with the most recent incident occurring in August. The advisory lists multiple vulnerabilities the group has used in attacks, including CVE-2020-3259, CVE-2023-20269, CVE-2023-27532, CVE-2024-40711, CVE-2024-40766 and others. "Once inside the network, SafePay actors establish control by creating new accounts or taking over existing ones," the agencies said. "They then use legitimate system tools to move through the network, identify valuable files, and disable security protections to avoid detection." The group also uses automated scripts to target vulnerabilities across internet-exposed systems. In some cases, the hackers change the passwords of system users to make it harder for them to login and stop their activity. They use legitimate tools to compress files and exfiltrate them before deploying the ransomware on victim devices. Legitimate remote desktop tools like AnyDesk or TeamViewer are used to transfer ransomware onto victim systems. The advisory said SafePay typically holds encrypted data for ransom and demands "a subset of company revenue in cryptocurrency" in exchange for the decryption key. "To put pressure on the victim, a representative makes phone calls on behalf of the ransomware group." The group's leak site currently lists dozens of German companies as well as government organizations across Latin America and the U.S. Experts previously said parts of SafePay's code resemble LockBit, a largely defunct ransomware operation that was previously responsible for hundreds of attacks. SafePay has recently taken credit for attacks on one of the U.S.'s biggest providers of IT products and services, British tech company Microlise and government technology contractor Conduent. The SafePay attack on Conduent caused significant damage across the U.S. because of the company's role in Medicaid, child support, food assistance, roadway tolls and more. Conduent announced a $80 million settlement last Friday in response to a class action lawsuit filed in the wake of the ransomware attack. No new articles

New Jersey launches first tap-to-pay chip EBT cards with Conduent to curb benefit theft

Conduent has teamed up with the New Jersey Department of Human Services to issue chip-enabled EBT cards to curb benefit theft. New Jersey is the third Conduent-supported state to adopt the cards and the first to include tap-to-pay. The cards serve clients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Work First New Jersey cash assistance program. Older magnetic stripe cards are vulnerable to skimming, in which criminals use devices on terminals or ATMs to steal card data. Chips let cardholders insert rather than swipe their cards. Cardholders can lock and unlock cards through the ConnectEBT app or NJFamiliesFirst.gov. Alabama was the second state to roll out chipped cards statewide. Conduent disbursed about $80 billion in government benefit payments in 2025.
