Requirements
  • Graduation from a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Program is required.
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists is required.
  • Hospital experience with a computerized unit-dose distribution system and IV admixture service is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Organizational skills in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Exposure to Lean principles, understanding of Lean methodologies and tools, and commitment to using them to support patient care are required.
  • Commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers, and other community members and the public is required.
  • Values consistent with Scarborough Health Network’s Code of Conduct and commitment to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with health and safety policy and legislation are required.
  • Ability to utilize provided protective equipment and identify and report hazards is required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists with unit-dose dispensing, compounding medications, issuing ward stock and narcotics, preparing sterile products, and recording and labelling supplies and stock.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
