State Street appointed transfer agent. 29 September 2026 Hong Kong Reporter: Madison Hendrickson State Street has been selected as Wellington Management's transfer agent on Hong Kong Exchanges and Cleaning Limited's (HKEX) integrated fund platform (IFP). According to the firm, it has executed Wellington's first fund subscription and redemption orders routed through the IFP. The platform is designed to strengthen Hong Kong's fund distribution infrastructure by connecting asset managers and distributors through a standardised digital channel. Speaking on the appointment, Tim Helyar, head of Asia Pacific at State Street, says: "This is an important milestone not only for Wellington Management and State Street, but also for the continued evolution of Hong Kong's fund distribution ecosystem." Helyar notes that "global asset managers are looking for more efficient ways to connect with distributors and investors across the region", and that the IFP has the potential to simplify that process. Cedric R. Pouillart, managing director, head of office for Hong Kong, director of trading, APAC, at Wellington Management, adds: "This successful implementation demonstrated the benefits of industry participants working together to enhance access and efficiency across Hong Kong's fund ecosystem." Alpha FMC hires State Street's Wightman as senior partner. Mark Wightman will work within the firm's asset and wealth management consulting division 28 September 2026 Financial services consultancy Alpha FMC has hired Mark Wightman as senior partner within its asset and wealth management consulting division. Wightman joins from State Street, where he spent nine months as executive vice president and head of strategic transformation. Prior to this, he worked at EY for 11 years, latterly as a partner within its wealth and asset management transformation team. He has also held roles at SunGard as head of alternatives, and at SuperDerivatives as vice president, Asia Pacific, over a career spanning 30 years. In his new role, Wightman will focus on continuing to grow Alpha FMC's international asset and wealth management consulting business, as well as to strengthen the firm's global client relationships. He will be focusing in particular on the UK, Middle East and Asia Pacific.
