- Multiple years of experience selling complex deals into biotech, cell and gene therapy, bioprocessing, CDMO services, or life-science tools, including six- to seven-figure deal sizes and multi-stakeholder buying processes.
- A track record of selling an innovation from a relatively unknown company, rather than relying on an established brand to open doors.
- Ability to take high ownership in a low-resource environment, including building prospect lists, writing sales decks, developing return-on-investment models, and taking on work beyond the usual job description.
- Scientific fluency sufficient to earn customer trust.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, including to the UK, Asia, and across the US.
- Ability to operate rigorously at speed.
- Grit and motivation to sustain long hours in pursuit of patient impact.
- Drive top-of-funnel prospecting through deal close and generate an independent sales pipeline.
- Run discovery with scientific and economic buyers, including manufacturing vice presidents, heads of chemistry, manufacturing, and controls, CEOs, and founders.
- Sell based on customer value rather than price or features.
- Qualify opportunities deeply and disqualify unsuitable deals quickly using MEDDPICC-style go/no-go decisions.
- Collaborate with internal and customer teams to design proof-of-value studies that demonstrate technical fit and return on investment in terms executives understand.
- Keep internal and external teams organized, informed, and on schedule throughout proof-of-value studies.
- Capture and share field insights that inform product development and business practices.
- Prepare target lists, conduct outreach, follow up with prospects, and build customer trust at conferences, events, and dinners.
- Help customers succeed by identifying critical consultants or suppliers needed to make the offering fit their needs.
