About the job

Requirements
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the transportation industry, with an emphasis on Traffic and Revenue forecasting in the North American highways transactions market.
  • A technical background in traffic, user demand, or ridership forecasting, including developing ridership models using network models and/or econometric modeling.
  • Proven ability to project-manage fast-paced Traffic and Revenue projects for primary and secondary highway transactions for private-sector clients.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client engagement, and project leadership for private-sector transaction-market clients.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as Task Lead, Project Manager, or Project Director on a portfolio of projects.
  • Be responsible for project delivery and client management, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Coordinate project teams, provide on-the-job training, and perform technical reviews.
  • Understand client objectives while carrying out detailed reviews and task delivery when needed.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Support business development efforts, including pre-positioning, proposal development, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Stay informed about market trends to create compelling scopes that respond to client needs.
  • Represent the organization externally by promoting its values and capabilities in the marketplace.
  • Develop and mentor staff, focusing on technical skill development, career development, and performance management.
  • Contribute to capability development and knowledge sharing across Steer.
  • Provide leadership and support to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Expert technical network-modeling skills in Cube and/or EMME.
  • Expert technical skills in econometrics, choice modeling, or other Traffic and Revenue techniques.
  • Market or modal experience outside highways, such as parking, ferries, transit, electric-vehicle charging, ports, or airports.
  • Technical experience outside Traffic and Revenue, such as electric-vehicle or autonomous-vehicle technology and forecasting, technical due diligence, business or strategic case development, or funding and financing.
  • Client relationships that could bring new opportunities to Steer.
  • A business-development mindset focused on cross-selling and diversifying the current market.
