Requirements
  • Two to five years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, networking, and closed-circuit television.
  • Strong understanding of fiber optic termination, network infrastructure, and Point-of-Sale deployment and troubleshooting.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and no driving under the influence or driving while intoxicated conviction in the last three years.
  • Reliable personal transportation.
  • Basic telecom tools and standard personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to travel continuously for up to 12 weeks and maintain flexibility for day and night shift rotations.
Responsibilities
  • Pull and route up to 300 copper cables and 8,000 to 10,000 feet of fiber optic cabling per new store installation.
  • Perform interior multi-mode fusion splicing and exterior or underground single-mode fusion splicing for main structures and external assets such as fuel stations.
  • Mount, secure, and terminate up to four Intermediate Distribution Frames directly in ceiling spaces.
  • Mount and connect network switches, wireless access points, Voice over Internet Protocol phones, computers, printers, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Add, move, and relocate existing copper infrastructure during active retail department remodels.
  • Interface directly with General Contractors and adjacent mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trades on-site to support build progression.
  • Conduct full wireless surveys and comprehensive cable testing after remodel and new construction projects.
  • Use a laptop to document, track, and share technical test results with management and clients.
  • Operate boom and/or scissor lifts to work at heights of 40 feet or more.
Desired Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as Building Industry Consulting Service International, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Mine Safety and Health Administration, Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association Certified Technology Specialist, Panduit, Belden, or Corning.
  • Hands-on experience with fusion splicing.
  • Experience running DSX cable certification testing.
