  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A Registered Nurse license is required.
  • At least 3 years of relevant nursing experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, oversee, and direct patient care while assuring quality, service, and safety standards are met.
  • Act as the day-to-day Associate Nurse Manager and directly supervise the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective clinical operations and outcomes.
  • Assist management with strategic unit operations and conduct staff meetings.
  • Lead or provide input to performance improvement processes with management oversight.
  • Analyze, organize, and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit and personnel.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed according to entity standards.
  • Assume 24/7 responsibility when needed.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Leaders to formulate and implement short- and long-term goals aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Monitor nursing care and documentation expectations and ensure Standards of Practice are followed.
  • Report issues, concerns, unusual patient or staff occurrences, staffing changes, patient acuity or complexity changes, and potential risk-related incidents appropriately and timely.
  • Develop roles and responsibilities for direct reports by fostering talent management and development within the specialty area.
  • Work with leaders to identify, develop, and retain high-potential employees through delegation, stretch assignments, supervision, and educational programs.
  • Encourage nursing staff to advance through the Professional Development program.
  • Monitor productivity, flex staffing appropriately, and meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Improve employee engagement through collaboration, staff accountability, one-on-one meetings, and recognition of strong performance.
  • Participate in and initiate corrective action when necessary and ensure policies are fairly and consistently enforced.
  • Support hospital Process Improvement philosophies and align departmental goals with Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Work with direct or indirect leaders to develop quality improvement and Process Improvement processes that support safe, quality patient outcomes.
  • Implement evidence-based best practices and actively participate in at least one policy or process improvement committee.
  • Round consistently on patients, monitor bedside handoff, and ensure staff responsiveness to call lights.
  • Establish and continuously assess internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on controls and University policies and procedures.
