- Ability to read and interpret cable run lists, floor plans, and network diagrams.
- Proficiency with testing equipment such as optical time-domain reflectometers, power meters, and cable certifiers.
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI standards for structured cabling.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Install, route, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and single-mode/multimode fiber.
- Perform rack-and-stack support with proper cable routing and management.
- Terminate, test, and troubleshoot fiber connections, including LC, SC, and MPO/MTP, and copper connections.
- Label cables and ports according to data center standards and maintain accurate documentation.
- Perform cable tracing, auditing, and cleanup to maintain organized pathways.
- Support build-outs, expansions, and decommissioning projects.
- Use ladder racks, trays, and patch panels properly.
