Requirements
  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of IT experience, specifically supporting operational technology or utility software environments.
  • Experience performing data analysis.
  • Maintenance experience with back office support of the CGI Outage Management System application at an electrical utility or similar organization.
  • Strong proficiency in OpenGrid Network, formerly known as Pragma UP/Pragma LINE, SQL databases, Python, Windows Server maintenance, and operational support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
  • Design, administer, and monitor grid application software configurations.
  • Create and execute shell scripts and/or Python code.
  • Collaborate directly with the IT team to maintain, improve, and implement communications, hardware, and software infrastructure.
  • Support data requests from SQL databases specific to electrical utility events.
  • Write and review documentation describing configuration processes, logic, and test plans.
  • Assist with system logic, processes, and data, particularly as they relate to Outage Management System-related projects, customer communications, and operational activities.
  • Contribute to the client’s upcoming database and operating system server upgrades.
  • Provide Outage Management System configuration, testing, and other hands-on support.
  • Provide high-tier technical support during active outage events, including nights and weekends during severe weather or system emergencies, and participate in the shared on-call duty support rotation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing or reviewing regulatory agreements/contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Electric Utility Industry experience.

EIP-backed Guardian Infrastructure Services acquires E2 Consulting Engineers to expand utility services platform

Guardian Infrastructure Services, a utility-focused infrastructure platform backed by Energy Impact Partners, has acquired E2 Consulting Engineers, a leading provider of engineering and technical consulting services to electric and gas utilities across North America. Founded in 1988 by Hersh Saluja, E2 provides engineering, project management, inspection and field support services for critical utility infrastructure programmes including transmission reliability, wildfire mitigation, pipeline safety and grid investment initiatives. The acquisition significantly expands Guardian's engineering and technical services capabilities. The deal reflects EIP's strategy of building a scaled utility infrastructure services platform supporting grid modernisation, resiliency and energy transition programmes. Guardian plans to pursue growth through organic expansion and selective acquisitions adding complementary services. TD Cowen served as financial adviser to E2, whilst A&O Shearman and Nixon Peabody provided legal counsel.
