Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in any qualifying field, or an associate degree and/or demonstrated competencies through certification or work experience.
  • Subject matter expertise in phlebotomy and the ability to teach didactic and laboratory coursework.
  • The ability to use required college technology and possess proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and maintain collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, department leadership, and the broader organization.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, teach assigned evening courses, and work at multiple sites.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse, multicultural student and college community.
Responsibilities
  • Design, prepare, plan, organize, and deliver phlebotomy instruction in didactic, laboratory, and classroom settings.
  • Evaluate student learning and performance, provide frequent and timely assessment and clear feedback, and document attendance, grades, student progress, and learning outcomes.
  • Incorporate college-required technology into instruction and integrate classroom and clinical experiences.
  • Collaborate with department chairs, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum.
  • Assist with coordinating clinical internships and correlate clinical education with didactic education.
  • Maintain current knowledge of phlebotomy and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
  • Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
  • Participate in meetings and program advisory committee work as designated.
  • Protect the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Support college and departmental missions through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, service, and implementation of college policies and practices.
