  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an office and public-school environment and come into direct contact with employees, students, and the public.
Responsibilities
  • Plans and provides appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
  • Provides an atmosphere conducive to students' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Supervises students in a variety of school-related settings.
  • Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
  • Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
  • Monitors the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Uses traditional and alternative assessment strategies aligned with Wake County Public School System curriculum and standards to support continuous learner development.
  • Ensures effective communication techniques are used with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Engages in planned continuous professional quality improvement for self, the school, and the school district.
  • Uses techniques and strategies that promote and enhance students' critical and creative thinking capabilities.
  • Implements classroom instructional strategies and materials reflecting each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic background.
  • Uses knowledge of learning and development to establish a classroom management system that maintains appropriate regulation.
  • Creates a positive learning environment supporting active learning, social interaction, cooperative learning, self-motivation, and students' intellectual, personal, and social development.
  • Plans, aligns, implements, and evaluates effective instruction and assessment in varied learning environments.
  • Collaborates with peers, parents, the community, and other stakeholders to improve students' classroom educational experiences.
  • Integrates appropriate technology into teaching and learning processes.
  • Ensures adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
