Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master of Science is a plus.
  • Current Texas professional engineer or professional geologist licensure, or current licensure in a state with reciprocity with Texas, is required.
  • At least 10 years of diverse environmental consulting experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role, is required.
  • Experience with regulatory liaison; contaminated site and brownfield investigations and remediation; Resource Conservation and Recovery Act facility investigations and corrective action; environmental compliance; air, water, and waste permitting; due diligence; regulatory compliance and environmental management system audits; and Phase I/II environmental assessments is required.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Demonstrated business development and client management experience is required.
  • Familiarity and positive working relationships with local, state, and federal regulators, including the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Texas Railroad Commission, United States Army Corps of Engineers, United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and United States Environmental Protection Agency, is required.
  • The ability to speak and write professionally, including experience preparing regulatory submittals, is required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, budgeting, and cost control is required.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising technical and administrative staff is required.
  • A professional license is required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state administrative code regulations for air, water/wastewater, and solid waste is required.
  • Licensed Site Remediation Professional registration is required.
  • Permitting and compliance experience is required.
  • Regulatory reporting program experience, such as Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System programs, is required.
  • Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan compliance experience is required.
Responsibilities
  • Help shape the continued growth of the environmental practice by recruiting new staff and building upon existing staff and expertise to expand the client base and service offerings.
  • Manage client relationships and develop new business.
  • Manage projects and provide senior direction on environmental projects involving air, water, and waste.
  • Develop, manage, and perform regulatory liaison activities, contaminated site and brownfield investigations and remediation, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act facility investigations and corrective action, environmental compliance, permitting, audits, and environmental assessments.
  • Supervise technical and administrative staff.
  • Build and manage an environmental practice or demonstrate career advancement indicating readiness to step into the role.
  • Help grow environmental practice service offerings, client base, and expertise in the Gulf Coast and Coastal Bend areas of Texas.
Desired Qualifications
  • Health and Safety/Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance experience.
  • Membership and active participation in applicable trade groups and professional organizations.
