- An Associate Degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy from an approved curriculum is required.
- A current license for physical therapy assisting in the state where the employee practices is required.
- The employee must have the ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- The employee must have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the World Wide Web.
- The employee must have good written and verbal communication skills.
- The employee must have good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
- Continuous travel is required for Home and Community Services staff.
- Treat residents or clients with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities through therapeutic activities ordered by a physician and in accordance with Ohio physical therapy regulations.
- Practice under the supervision of a Physical Therapist and communicate resident or client progress and status to the supervising therapist in a timely manner.
- Develop and evaluate plans of care in partnership with patients, patient representatives when applicable, and caregivers.
- Provide patient and caregiver education and counseling.
- Communicate with physicians and other health care practitioners involved in the plan of care.
- Screen residents or clients in accordance with facility or agency policy.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and on time.
- Assist with marketing and program development as requested.
- Maintain productivity levels that meet facility or agency goals.
- Maintain knowledge of the physical therapy field through related in-service and continuing education programs.
- Assist the facility or agency in meeting standards required for state, federal, and other appropriate certifications.
- Plan and complete in-services for facility or agency staff education as requested by management.
- Attend all facility or agency meetings and in-services.
- Follow applicable organizational policies, procedures, codes, regulations, and laws.
- Provide care respectfully and protect resident or client dignity.
- Report resident or family complaints and allegations of abuse, misappropriation, or other compliance concerns to appropriate supervisors.
- Complete annual education requirements, including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two to four years of experience is preferred.
