Requirements

  • A strong working knowledge of statistics and Minitab is required, including subject-matter expertise in statistics.
Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to New Product Introduction projects.
  • Evaluate procedures to ensure production of quality products and identify approaches to complex engineering problems.
  • Conduct process and measurement-system capability studies and provide technical guidance to management.
  • Develop documentation for process improvement and project implementation.
  • Support regulatory and agency inspections, audits, investigations, and inquiries related to product design and manufacturing quality.
  • Develop, manufacture, test, and validate new test methods, tooling, fixtures, and templates, including gage repeatability and reproducibility studies and statistical analysis using Minitab.
  • Update test method procedures and process standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical input to root-cause analyses, generate investigation reports, and participate in cross-functional New Product Introduction team reviews.
  • Review procedures, protocols, reports, and documents related to test-method development, process testing, and process validation.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and provide New Product Introduction expertise within the product development process.
  • Ensure compliance throughout all stages of the product development process.
  • Support risk-management activities in accordance with ISO 14971.
  • Review internal and external standards and identify gaps requiring action.
  • Lead continuous-improvement projects and assist with product transfers.
  • Generate and complete protocols and reports for test-method validations.
  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineers to review new-product processes and coordinate process validations and capability studies.
  • Develop inspection techniques and procedures and write, approve, and implement incoming, in-process, and final inspection procedures.
  • Ensure disposition of non-conforming materials follows required procedures and corrective actions are adequate to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in plant corrective and preventive action activities, including analysis of complaints, supplier quality, non-conforming material, training effectiveness, and root causes.
  • Use data-analysis practices and observe products and processes to establish root causes of product and process failures or justify improvements.
  • Support internal quality-audit activities.
  • Maintain adherence to the Quality Management System and support corrective and preventive action investigations and implementation.
  • Support site Hoshin plans, quality plans, validation master plans, quality-improvement initiatives, and quality metrics.
  • Initiate and complete customer change notifications and support sustained-change and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Standardize workplace organization, visual controls, 5S, manufacturing standard work, and training and certification programs.
  • Promote standardized problem solving, behavior-based safety programs, and improvement idea systems.
  • Optimize systems and processes through built-in-quality principles.
  • Support Environmental, Health and Safety programs and achieve defined project goals and milestones.
