THE ROLE

The Chemical Repackaging Manager will lead and grow Porter's liquid chemical repackaging division. Our first line is up and running for one of the world's largest chemical distributors. Your job is to strengthen and scale that line, then build new repackaging lines for additional customers in Atlanta and Savannah.

You will own the division from end to end: people, budget, equipment, customer relationships, safety and quality. You'll raise the performance of the current operation, turn what works into repeatable standards and use those standards to launch new lines at both sites. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will set the strategy for scaling the division, manage its P&L and serve as the primary contact for our repackaging customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Division Leadership and Strategy

• Own the operating plan for the existing line and the multi-site growth of the division.
• Set division KPIs for throughput, fill accuracy, yield, safety and on-time delivery. Report results to executive leadership.
• Partner with leadership and sales to scope, price and launch repackaging lines for new customers in Atlanta and Savannah.

Existing Line Performance

• Take ownership of the current repackaging line and stabilize performance after a leadership transition.
• Audit current SOPs, batch records, training and equipment. Close gaps and raise standards.
• Improve throughput, fill accuracy and yield while holding safety and quality.

New Line Launches

• Build a repeatable launch playbook covering site readiness, equipment, staffing, training, SOPs and customer onboarding.
• Lead new line startups from scoping through commissioning and steady-state production.
• Standardize processes across Atlanta and Savannah so every line runs to the same safety and quality bar.

Equipment and Facility Build-Out

• Specify, source and commission filling, weighing, pumping and packaging equipment for new lines.
• Build capital expenditure requests and business cases for equipment and facility upgrades.
• Partner with engineering and vendors on line layout, containment, ventilation and preventive maintenance.

Customer Partnership

• Serve as the primary contact for repackaging customers, starting with our largest chemical distribution account.
• Lead regular business reviews covering volume, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Manage customer specifications, change requests and corrective actions.

Team Leadership

• Lead the current repackaging team. Hire and develop a Lead Operator and additional operators as the division grows.
• Build the staffing model for multi-site operations, including leads or supervisors in Savannah.
• Build training and skills certification for equipment operation, chemical handling and quality checks.
• Set schedules, manage performance and build a culture of safety, accountability and precision.

Safety, Quality and Compliance

• Maintain SOPs, batch records, work instructions and quality control procedures for every line.
• Partner with Porter's safety and compliance teams to meet OSHA (HazCom, LOTO, PPE), DOT hazmat, EPA and fire code requirements at both sites.
• Oversee GHS labeling, SDS management, lot traceability and product integrity controls to prevent cross-contamination and mislabeling.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Keep the division ready for customer, regulatory and internal audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 7+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, blending, repackaging, filling or a comparable process-driven environment.
• 3+ years of people management, including hiring, training and performance management.
• Proven track record launching new production lines and improving the performance of existing ones.
• Experience selecting, specifying or commissioning production equipment and managing capital projects.
• Working knowledge of OSHA HazCom, LOTO, GHS, SDS, hazard classes and DOT hazmat rules.
• Customer-facing experience, including leading business reviews and managing service expectations.
• Strong command of production math and data: weights, volumes, unit conversions, yields and KPIs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a WMS, ERP or production system.
• Willingness to travel between Atlanta and Savannah as needed.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, operations management, supply chain or a related field.
• 3PL or contract packaging experience.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher.
• DOT hazmat, OSHA 30 or HAZWOPER certification.
• Forklift certification.
