Requirements
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant technical experience, including at least four years focused on cloud automation and DevSecOps and at least six years focused on Department of Defense-aligned problem sets.
  • Expertise developing and implementing automation solutions within a major public cloud platform, specifically Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Extensive experience implementing and managing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery using tools such as GitLab.
  • Deep understanding of Department of Defense security standards, hardening baselines, and compliance frameworks such as Security Technical Implementation Guides and Risk Management Framework.
  • Ability to design scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise-level cloud solutions.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with proven experience mentoring and leading technical teams.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility and maintain Special Access Program eligibility.
  • United States citizenship is required for this contract.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead technical engineer for designing, developing, and securing Infrastructure as Code and scripting technologies across the full system lifecycle.
  • Identify manual, repetitive, or cross-functional tasks and develop automation solutions to improve team efficiency and operational quality.
  • Define and enforce technical standards, architecture patterns, and design principles for automation and Infrastructure as Code solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the target cloud solution in alignment with engineering and security best practices.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines using tools such as GitLab for source control and automation.
  • Manage and provision Amazon Web Services cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools, primarily Terraform.
  • Implement containerization and orchestration strategies for cloud-native workloads.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud spend through cost-aware designs and automated governance tools.
  • Ensure cloud deployments and operational practices adhere to security baselines, Department of Defense security requirements, and Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Coach and train sub-teams on automation technologies, cloud best practices, DevSecOps methodologies, and security compliance.
  • Collaborate with security and governance teams to ensure the environment meets federal and Department of Defense standards.
  • Assist with documentation concerning automation architecture, security controls, and operational procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Flux, Packer, and Terragrunt.
  • Familiarity with secrets-management platforms such as HashiCorp Vault.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certification.
