Requirements
  • Experience working in a multitasking environment with telephones, radios, and computers.
  • Experience working in customer service in the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
  • Use telephones and radios to transmit and receive operational and emergency information.
  • Handle and prioritize multiple simultaneous communication demands.
  • Switch between tasks quickly and effectively while maintaining composure.
  • Relay information promptly and clearly to the First-Aid Room Foreman or another team leader on duty.
  • Request and communicate with emergency medical services and other outside agencies.
  • Route wrong-number callers to the correct destination.
  • Communicate with guests, coworkers, vendors, and community members.
  • Find answers to guests' questions and request assistance with difficult interactions.
  • Assist with daily paperwork for completeness.
  • Run predefined reports from the dispatch system.
  • Construct timelines and other documentation as needed.
  • Keep the dispatch office clean and well-stocked and assist with keeping the first-aid room clean and stocked.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement efforts.
  • Debrief significant incidents in a group setting, sharing successes and ideas for improvement.
  • Report safety and quality concerns immediately and discreetly.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the mountain, resort departments, and operations.
  • Know the trail map, current trail status, and locations of Patrol resources.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other departments and understand their processes.
  • Become familiar with major buildings, structures, and the resort property layout, including internal layouts.
  • Exercise sound judgment while performing the functions of the position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working as a ski patroller.
  • Experience in healthcare, especially in an emergency setting.
  • Holding EMT, Wilderness First Responder, Outdoor Emergency Care, or greater certification at the time of hire.
  • Attain and maintain current Outdoor Emergency Care certification within the first two seasons.
