About the job
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in aerospace inspection of structural components and assemblies.
- Understanding and experience in AS9100.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, GD&T, manufacturing processes, and tooling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience reviewing shipping documentation.
- Team-minded, communicative, and proactive.
- Interpret technical drawings and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to verify that dimensions, materials, and workmanship conform to requirements.
- Verify materials against aerospace material specifications (AMS) and applicable engineering requirements.
- Inspect structural and composite components at source using precision measuring instruments, including vernier calipers, micrometers, and related gauges, and applicable inspection standards.
- Review shipping and quality documentation, including material certifications, inspection records, and traceability, against customer requirements.
- Assess non-conformances against fit, form, and function per AS9100, communicate findings to the customer, and support resolution.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and corrective action using quality-engineering principles, and prepare 8D reports for escapes per AS13000.
- Support First Article Inspection to AS9102 and verify conformance records before release.
- Apply working knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methods for structural and composite components.
- Report daily on work performed, measured results, and quality findings.
