About the job
- Hold a current California license with a nurse practitioner credential in Pediatrics or Family.
- Have at least 2 years of pediatric experience as a nurse practitioner.
- Hold national board certification as a nurse practitioner in Pediatrics or Family.
- Hold Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Be capable and experienced in relevant procedures, including vaccination, phlebotomy, catheterization, intravenous line placement, medication administration by intravenous and intramuscular routes, and nebulizer administration.
- Be adaptable and able to gain training and demonstrate competencies in a variety of point-of-care testing modalities and devices.
- Possess reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel to and from member home visits within the assigned service area.
- Partner with Atria pediatricians to provide care in the facility and to members in their homes during home visits.
- Collaborate with pediatricians to provide preventive care, well visits, and personalized health assessments; independently provide urgent visits and focused follow-ups at the Institute or in the home with direct and indirect supervision.
- Perform minor procedures, including peripheral intravenous line insertion, phlebotomy, wound care, and vaccinations.
- Correspond with families in writing through secure messages and email, in collaboration with the care coordination team.
- Adhere to ethical principles and professional practice standards; maintain confidentiality, integrity, and respect for patients’ rights and dignity; comply with legal and regulatory requirements governing nursing practice, licensure, and scope of practice.
- Occasionally perform nursing tasks for adult patients, such as administering a flu vaccination to a child’s parent.
