Requirements
- Must be a Certified Medication Aide in the State of New Jersey and a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide.
- Experience dealing with elderly residents and providing daily support services such as bathing, dressing, and general assistance.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must demonstrate compliance with the Christian Health ASPIRE Standards of Performance.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as prescribed by the health care provider in accordance with the five rights of medication administration.
- Assist residents with dressing, clothing selection, ambulation, showering, sponge bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care, makeup, toileting, meals, and special dietary needs.
- Monitor resident service plans and promptly implement changes in care needs.
- Provide privacy-sensitive, respectful, and proactive daily care while supporting resident choice, privacy, independence, and dignity.
- Communicate clinical care concerns, changes in resident status, behaviors, and other concerns promptly to the nurse.
- Maintain awareness of and respond appropriately to residents with special needs, memory impairment, or cognitive impairment.
- Apply standard precautions and document accurately according to facility policy.
- Make scheduled beds and manage residents' personal laundry and linen needs.
- Answer call bells promptly and courteously.
- Transport residents within the facility as needed.
- Perform minor housekeeping tasks to maintain an orderly and neat facility.
- Notify the nurse on duty when medication is not administered as ordered.
- Receive and transfer oral and written reports at shift change.
- Assist activity staff with daily activities by transporting residents, encouraging attendance, and providing active assistance when assigned.
- Serve as a liaison to nursing staff for routing clinical care concerns.
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
