Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • The candidate must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering examination.
  • The candidate must have 1–4 years of experience as a civil engineer on transportation or roadway design projects.
  • Experience with relevant state Department of Transportation and local county or municipality standards is preferred.
  • Knowledge of plans, specifications, and estimates processes is required.
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads 3D modeling software is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform engineering for highway and roadway planning and design, including horizontal and vertical geometry, MicroStation and/or OpenRoads 3D modeling, retaining wall layouts, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details, and final plan deliverables.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes and exercise judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, substantial adaptation, and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work involving conventional practices and potentially complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Engineering Intern is preferred.
  • Experience with relevant state Department of Transportation and local county or municipality standards is preferred.
