  • Knowledge of medical practice to assist in patient care.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Availability to work variable weekdays and weekends, including nights, rotating weekends, and holidays.
  • Patient Care Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant experience may be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering primary healthcare, patient care management, and clerical duties as needed in an ambulatory environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the life span and provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
  • Obtain health histories, vital signs, medication lists, and allergy information before provider office visits.
  • Coordinate blood draws.
  • Perform electrocardiograms.
  • Complete point-of-care testing.
  • Administer injections.
  • Support multiple providers simultaneously and provide necessary services to keep the schedule on track.
  • Monitor patient messages and triage patient calls.
  • Notify patients of laboratory results and medication refills as directed.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from or completion of a Certified Medical Assistant program is preferred but not required.
