Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering, or an equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program.
  • At least 8 years of demonstrated United States-based experience with civil engineering airport design and construction projects.
  • Experience with general aviation and/or Part 139 airfield clients.
  • At least two years of experience serving as a project manager on civil airport projects.
  • An Engineer-In-Training professional designation.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or the ability to obtain it soon after hire.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration regulations and airport safety.
  • Understanding of engineering design software such as Civil 3D and Bluebeam.
  • A proven client-growth mindset and ability to pursue new client development.
  • A valid driver's license and an insurable driving record for periodic travel.
Responsibilities
  • Create and lead a regional aviation civil engineering group serving airfields across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.
  • Grow market presence, develop a local team, and serve as project manager for airport planning and design projects.
  • Collaborate with aviation clients to understand project vision.
  • Oversee the engineering project lifecycle from planning through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Use engineering design software to review and edit design plans and models.
  • Apply Federal Aviation Administration and airport-safety knowledge in project work.
  • Evaluate quality assurance and quality control on team project work.
  • Analyze system deficiencies and provide improvement alternatives to meet project goals.
  • Prepare Requests for Proposals, reports, project specifications, and memorandums using technical writing skills.
  • Ensure precision and safety through meticulous design.
  • Resolve complex design challenges and problems.
  • Engage community members, government officials, and other stakeholders to communicate project goals, address concerns, and gather input.
  • Develop, inspire, and mentor reporting personnel.
  • Monitor federal regulations affecting the aviation industry.
  • Partner with the regional director and operations managers to identify and pursue new business opportunities, drive revenue growth, and expand market presence.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional certification in conjunction with engineering licensure.
