About the job

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Six or more years of progressively responsible experience in dental or medical credentialing, payor enrollment, or healthcare revenue cycle, including ownership of a program, process, or system rather than task-level execution.
  • Direct, hands-on experience leading or materially supporting payor audits and delegated credentialing audits, including corrective action planning and closure.
  • Experience interpreting payor contracts, delegation agreements, and NCQA/URAC-aligned credentialing standards and applying them to operational decisions.
  • Working knowledge of DentalXchange, dental billing, CDT coding, and EDI/ERA processes.
  • Ability to evaluate complex audit, contractual, and enrollment data; identify risk and root causes; and determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to author clear, persuasive formal correspondence and explain complex compliance and enrollment matters to payors, leadership, and staff.
  • Ability to design, document, and continuously improve audit-readiness controls, policies, and reporting.
  • Ability to advise senior leaders and guide less-experienced credentialing and enrollment staff without formal supervisory authority.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert and point of contact for payor-initiated audits from intake through resolution.
  • Evaluate audit requests, determine scope and exposure, and administer the centralized audit intake, risk-tiering, and tracking framework.
  • Analyze practice, billing, and clinical records and author and submit formal written responses to payors.
  • Negotiate response timelines and extension requests with payor contacts and escalate material risks with recommended actions.
  • Analyze audit outcomes, root causes, and turnaround performance and translate findings into provider education, workflow, and policy recommendations.
  • Own the delegated credentialing audit program and translate delegation-agreement obligations into internal standards, controls, and monitoring routines.
  • Lead pre-delegation and periodic delegated audits as the technical representative to health plan oversight teams.
  • Conduct internal file audits and mock audits against NCQA/URAC-aligned and payor-specific standards.
  • Draft and update credentialing policies, procedures, and committee documentation to maintain audit readiness.
  • Draft corrective action plans, drive approved plans to closure, and validate sustained correction.
  • Serve as the data owner and system subject-matter expert for provider enrollment information in DentalXchange.
  • Define and maintain the enrollment workflow connecting credentialing, contracting, and clearinghouse activation.
  • Perform recurring data-integrity reviews of demographic, NPI, tax ID, and enrollment data against source credentialing records.
  • Diagnose enrollment rejections, payor edits, and connectivity failures and distinguish isolated errors from systemic defects.
  • Manage DentalXchange support escalations and configuration coordination and ensure provider status changes are accurately reflected across connected systems.
  • Define record-keeping standards and reconciliation cadence supporting clean claims submission and audit readiness.
  • Reconcile payor enrollment and effective-date records against credentialing and contracting status to identify denial or take-back exposure.
  • Analyze denial and rejection trends attributable to enrollment or credentialing defects, quantify financial impact, and recommend corrective changes.
  • Maintain documentation supporting billing-related audit responses, including fee schedules, enrollment confirmations, and EDI/ERA records.
  • Partner with Billing and Revenue Cycle leadership on remediation and go-live readiness for providers and acquired practices.
  • Build and maintain reporting on payor audits, delegated audits, and enrollment data quality and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Recommend and maintain performance and risk indicators, monitor results, and propose thresholds and corrective action.
  • Monitor regulatory, accreditation, and payor policy changes and implement required process, documentation, or system changes.
  • Develop training and reference materials and represent the function on cross-functional payor onboarding, practice integration, and system implementation projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-site, multi-state healthcare or dental service organization environment is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist, Certified Provider Medical Staff Services Professional, or comparable credentialing/compliance certification is preferred.

About the company

Dental care Alliance (DCA) is a dental support organization that partners with dental practices to handle the business side of running a practice. It provides administrative, marketing, and operational support so clinicians can focus on patient care. DCA serves a mix of practices across general dentistry (275), pediatric orthodontics (70), and adult specialty dentistry (45), generating revenue through service fees and membership plans including annual fees for individuals and families. Its service model includes backing practices with a shared infrastructure, marketing, and back-office resources to help dentists start or grow their careers. Compared to competitors, DCA combines a large, diverse network of practices with a dedicated team of industry experts to offer scalable support across multiple dental specialties, not just general dentistry. The company aims to elevate the standard of dental care in the communities it serves by uniting dentists with a strong support system.
