  • Must have a master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes coursework in nursing, education, or administration.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position.
  • Must have a minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs.
  • Must have at least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent experience as determined by the Board.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the site and develop, plan, coordinate, organize, implement, and evaluate nursing program activities.
  • Plan, develop, manage, update, and evaluate the RN program budget, faculty and staff, clinical site liaison activities, curriculum development and implementation, Board compliance, student advocacy, program policies and procedures, and faculty and student handbooks.
  • Obtain supplies and equipment needed to meet program objectives.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and other written materials required by the state and Board, including materials for site visits.
  • Initiate and maintain student and faculty records and work with Human Resources to maintain documentation of faculty and staff qualifications.
  • Identify and obtain outside resources for the nursing program.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Organize and serve on program committees.
  • Oversee the admissions process and orientation.
  • Write articulation agreements with nearby colleges detailing accepted course equivalents for transfer into Eagle Gate, Provo, and Unitek College nursing programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the community and the college.
  • Develop and maintain educational partnerships and contracts with clinical sites.
  • Perform or delegate clinical site evaluations assessing whether agencies can provide clinical experiences meeting theory and clinical course objectives, including analysis of student risks, hazards, safety, and staffing adequacy.
  • Meet with clinical faculty or agency educational representatives to confirm student numbers, faculty assignments, dates, times, clinical rotations, and clinical objectives.
  • Complete and forward BRN clinical approval forms before initiating clinical rotations.
  • Ensure completion of evaluations by students, clinical site representatives, and faculty after each clinical rotation and provide summary reports to the Dean, Chief Academic Officer, and Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain minutes of inter-agency meetings.
  • Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
  • Conduct or ensure regular nursing faculty meetings and maintain meeting records and minutes.
  • Participate in conflict resolution for faculty and students.
  • Initiate and maintain community relationships and advocate for and market the programs.
  • Monitor instructional quality and participate in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Maintain membership and participate in professional association activities.
  • Represent nursing interests when interacting with counseling, registration, financial aid, and other college entities.
  • Provide advising support and degree-planning assistance to prospective students.
  • Orient students to nursing skills laboratories and clinical facilities before clinical rotations.
  • Manage student appeals and grievances according to policy.
  • Participate in recruitment and admission planning and review for qualified nursing students.
  • Advise nursing students and provide academic support as indicated.
  • Ensure students complete documentation and meet requirements for graduation and the licensing examination.
  • Conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Monitor student performance, NCLEX licensing outcomes, and job placement rates.
