Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Three years of health industry operations or corporate training experience is required.
  • Ability to create and facilitate high-impact, department-specific and corporate-wide training initiatives from concept through lesson plans and implementation.
  • Knowledge of HMO commercial, PPO, EPO, POS, FSA, TPA, PBD, indemnity, consumer-directed, Medicare, and Medicaid product lines.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Expertise in group facilitation, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Ability to learn new software programs quickly and create training guides.
  • High-level knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required.
  • Familiarity with e-learning tools such as Articulate and corporate intranets and websites.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Local travel is required. Associates who use a motor vehicle while representing Independent Health must comply with state motor vehicle laws and the organization's driver's license requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement training for new and existing associates and support training needs for organizational initiatives.
  • Develop, deliver, refine, and communicate all training and new-hire curricula.
  • Develop and continually refine departmental training materials.
  • Develop, deliver, and grade skill assessments.
  • Schedule and communicate new-hire training.
  • Communicate trainee performance.
  • Create and update trainee handbooks and manuals.
  • Deliver individual, small-group, and large-forum training.
  • Supervise new-hire classes and manage disciplinary functions and timecards.
  • Develop, deliver, and communicate new training methods for continuous associate improvement and staff development.
  • Develop and deliver departmental staff-development initiatives.
  • Work with the resource coordinator to identify staff-development improvements.
  • Assist in developing and delivering training on new products, benefit changes, system updates, and other information.
  • Coordinate training and its delivery.
  • Maintain the department portal page.
  • Research new information and staff needs, coordinate training, and review student performance with other departments.
  • Coordinate and schedule training needs with staff development.
  • Work with quality assurance and resource management to ensure appropriate training is developed and delivered.
  • Work with departments to schedule new-hire orientations.
  • Provide ideas for system updates that may require specific testing.
  • Research policies, procedures, contracts, and benefits with other functional areas.
  • Coordinate onboarding and supervision of new-hire classes with human resources and handle disciplinary occurrences as needed.
  • Assist in developing and implementing training to support corporate strategic priorities.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree is preferred.
