Responsibilities
  • Lead a diverse team of business development, proposal, and capture professionals responsible for identifying, qualifying, developing, pursuing, and winning strategic capture opportunities.
  • Develop and implement a growth plan with goals, strategies, and tactics for increasing market share in existing and new markets.
  • Manage existing and future core capabilities to respond to a dynamic and complex customer base.
  • Develop and manage the sales pipeline, including supporting the ongoing qualification of pipeline deals to meet business targets.
  • Develop customer strategies, including executive-level deliverables to overcome barriers to transformation and accelerate acquisition within the federal sales organization.
  • Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.
  • Facilitate deal reviews and proposal management, including fact-finding and negotiation, competitive pricing insights and considerations, capture-budget management, risk assessments, and solution reviews.
  • Direct business development and proposal organizational strategies by contributing information and analysis, preparing critical measurements, and making recommendations for strategic direction.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, marketing and business development, proposal, finance and human resources teams, and technical groups to coordinate business development activities and ensure proposals are best in class.
  • Implement business development strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances; developing action plans; measuring and analyzing results; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances; and tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments.
  • Evaluate each request for proposal and task order and coordinate a bid/no-bid decision supported by analyzed justification.
  • Use an established network in federal civilian agencies to meet potential clients, identify new business opportunities, and serve as lead for identified pursuits.
  • Screen and close potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; and resolving internal priorities.
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying the integration of new ventures and joint ventures with company strategies and operations, examining risks and opportunities, and estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Take ownership of new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to company growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure proposals are compliant, innovative, and compelling.
