About the job

Requirements
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong SQL skills, including joining tables, tracing data grain, identifying duplicates, and validating results in unfamiliar schemas.
  • Practical proficiency in Python for data transformation, analysis, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT pipeline design sufficient to define data requirements, validate output, and partner with Data Engineering on pipeline and data mart requests.
  • Ability to design and build end-to-end reporting and analytical experiences using a modern BI platform or standalone interactive HTML/web-based reports.
  • Demonstrated experience automating manual, recurring data or reporting workflows.
  • Ability to adopt new AI-assisted tools and workflows and build fluency quickly.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including deconstructing sophisticated, undocumented legacy workbooks.
  • Ability to explore data, form and test hypotheses, and determine why events occurred rather than only report what happened.
  • Fluent spoken and written English for communication with business stakeholders, executive leadership, analysts, and engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with FP&A leadership to understand reporting, analytical, and planning processes and identify where they should fundamentally change.
  • Reverse-engineer complex Excel workbooks and manual processes to understand data sources, business logic, calculations, and users’ underlying questions.
  • Design and build automated solutions using SQL, Python, ETL/data transformation, APIs, and modern AI tools.
  • Work with large, imperfect, multi-system datasets and resolve data quality, mapping, reconciliation, and grain issues.
  • Perform exploratory analysis to identify trends, anomalies, relationships, and underlying business drivers.
  • Design dashboards and reporting experiences around the decisions people need to make rather than recreating existing spreadsheets in new tools.
  • Build AI-assisted interactive HTML reporting tools that refresh efficiently without repeated AI calls.
  • Develop driver-based analysis, exception reporting, and monitoring approaches that proactively surface important changes.
  • Explore and build AI-assisted and agentic workflows, including ways for LLMs to interact with data, tools, APIs, and reporting processes.
  • Partner with central Data Analytics and Data Engineering teams on shared data infrastructure and standards, including scoping and coordinating data pipeline and data mart requests.
  • Contribute leadership within the analytics function by shaping problem-solving approaches, mentoring by example, and helping set standards for analytical rigor.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for Finance leaders and other business stakeholders.
  • Help build and shape the FP&A AI repository, including the documentation, conventions, and workflows that enable an AI assistant to execute FP&A processes reliably.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related quantitative/technical field; equivalent experience is acceptable. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Hands-on pipeline-building experience.
  • Experience supporting Finance, FP&A, Strategy, Operations, or another analytically intensive business function.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as revenue, margin, profitability, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Experience modernizing legacy Excel-based reporting or analytical processes.
  • Experience working with data distributed across multiple systems and imperfectly documented.
  • Experience working effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
  • Exposure to AI/agentic tooling, or experience helping design AI applications for business processes, such as LLM workflows, tool/function calling, RAG, MCP, or AI-assisted reporting or automation.
  • Machine learning, statistical modeling, or formal data science experience.

Welo Global's recognition stems from its ability to provide governance and trusted multilingual data that align with AI systems, allowing them to efficiently operate across diverse languages and markets. Paul Carr, CEO of Welo Global, emphasized that although translation remains a core component, the demand for governance and evaluative capabilities has surged as AI becomes more ingrained in corporate ecosystems.
