Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of spreader, distributor, or boot truck driver experience is required.
  • A Class A Commercial Driver’s License or greater with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements held for at least 3 years is required.
  • A valid Department of Transportation medical card and a good Department of Motor Vehicles record are required.
  • Mechanical background and skills are required.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines is required.
  • The ability to travel and work overtime, nights, or weekends as needed is required.
  • The ability to reach below, at, and above shoulder level; push and pull; twist and bend; sit, stand, and balance; operate hand and foot controls; grasp firmly; carry and lift or lower over 50 pounds; squat, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, climb stairs or ladders, and perform gross manipulation such as pinching is required.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Understand shot rates for the correct application of asphalt surfaces.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation standards, including checking air brakes, oil, water, tire inflation, lighting permits, safety equipment, and the electronic logging device.
  • Perform required maintenance on the assigned truck.
  • Record maintenance issues in the electronic logging device and notify the supervisor of issues that could inhibit production or create safety concerns.
  • Complete required daily paperwork, including time reports, truck reports, and scale tickets.
  • Work promptly and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and management.
  • Work out of town during days or nights and work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.

Mr. Barton brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience to the PPG platform, including sixteen years in the construction materials sector at CRH.
