  • A degree or area of study in one of the listed fields, including accounting, business administration, communications, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing, digital marketing, financial services informatics, organizational management, merchandising, public relations, international business, business analytics, finance and banking, risk management and insurance, mathematics for business, economics, professional sales/selling, international management, innovation and entrepreneurship, human resource management, supply chain management, or project management, plus two years of related work experience; or an associate degree plus four years of related work experience.
  • Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in the teaching content area, per the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction CTE manual.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and provide appropriate classroom learning experiences for students in the specified business, entrepreneurship, economics, careers, and financial literacy courses.
  • Create an environment conducive to students’ intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development and success.
  • Supervise students in school-related settings, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, and communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices; monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Serve as an adviser or co-adviser for the school’s chapter of Future Business Leaders of America.
  • Use traditional and alternative assessment strategies aligned with the school system’s curriculum and standards to support learners’ continuous development.
  • Use instructional techniques and strategies that promote students’ critical and creative thinking.
  • Implement classroom strategies and materials that reflect students’ cultures, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Use understanding of learning and development to establish a classroom management system, create a positive learning environment, and support students’ intellectual, personal, and social development.
  • Plan, align, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessment across learning settings.
  • Collaborate with peers, parents, the community, and other stakeholders to improve students’ classroom educational experiences.
  • Integrate appropriate technology into teaching and learning.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
