Requirements
  • An Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first-aid training or certification is required.
  • One year of continuous sobriety is required for applicants in recovery.
  • Working knowledge of addictions with age-specific client populations is preferred.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft products and network components are required.
  • Strong communication skills and organizational skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform and document nursing assessments and screenings, review client histories, and establish a clinical nursing summary for admitted clients.
  • Assess individual client care needs, initiate medical treatment plans, and implement care according to physician orders and nursing-practice standards.
  • Order, administer, and manage medications safely; monitor medication effects and conduct controlled-medication counts.
  • Process physician orders accurately and promptly.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens using proper infection-control procedures.
  • Provide client education based on assessments, needs, and treatment plans.
  • Delegate duties and coordinate care with direct-care staff to support continuity of care and service efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain client medical records and document care accurately using approved language and abbreviations.
  • Provide accurate shift reports to ensure continuity of client care.
  • Work a flexible schedule based on service demands and stand on call at designated times.
  • Attend mandatory training and complete yearly training requirements.
  • Mentor new employees and communicate medical and nursing issues to the clinical and case-management team.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with Hanley Foundation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of clients.
  • Report alleged abuse or neglect according to state standards and accrediting-body requirements.
  • Ensure records are available for inspection by state and accrediting-body staff.
  • Coordinate clinical-staff functioning to avoid scheduling conflicts among administrative, clinical, and programmatic needs.
  • Report directly to the physician, physician assistant, or advanced practice nurse and complete orders promptly.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous hospital, chemical-dependency rehabilitation-treatment, and/or behavioral-health experience is desired.
  • Working knowledge of addictions with age-specific client populations is preferred.
