About the job

Requirements
  • Support sustaining engineering activities for high-reliability electronic assemblies, including analog and mixed-signal circuit designs.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve issues in legacy and production hardware, including synchro and resolver interface circuits.
  • Perform root cause analysis on field returns and production failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Design, test, and validate analog circuitry, including signal conditioning, filtering, and data acquisition systems.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and design engineering to ensure product performance and compliance.
  • Update schematics, bills of materials, and engineering documentation to support product changes and obsolescence mitigation.
  • Develop and execute validation and verification test procedures for electronic systems and subsystems.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to production, including debugging printed circuit board assemblies and test stations.
  • Evaluate and qualify replacement components for obsolete or end-of-life electronic parts.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
  • Be a U.S. person, defined as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, and provide documentation upon hire to verify this status. Some positions involving sensitive customer contracts require U.S. citizenship as a condition of employment.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Have 3–7+ years of experience in electronics engineering, with emphasis on analog circuit design.
  • Have direct experience with synchro/resolver technology, including excitation, signal conditioning, and decoding techniques.
  • Have strong knowledge of analog and mixed-signal design, including amplifiers, filters, analog-to-digital converters, digital-to-analog converters, and precision signal chains.
  • Be able to troubleshoot circuits at component and system level using standard lab equipment.
  • Have experience with schematic capture and printed circuit board design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent.
  • Be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment.
  • Have effective written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Support and enhance the performance, reliability, and lifecycle of advanced embedded electronic systems, with a focus on analog and mixed-signal circuit design and synchro/resolver-based technologies.
  • Maintain high-reliability products used in aerospace and defense applications to ensure continued operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Desired Qualifications
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability electronics environments.
  • Experience with Analog Devices Blackfin digital signal processor programming or embedded processing platforms.
  • Understanding of digital signal processing techniques related to resolver-to-digital conversion.
  • Familiarity with field-programmable gate array or microcontroller-based system integration.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills in complex electronic systems.

What believers are saying

  • Aircraft work broadens: Hermeus selected North Atlantic Industries' flight computer for Quarterhorse MK 2.3 in September 2026.
  • Army modernization adds product work: the company announced an aircraft-network upgrade contract in November 2025.
  • Assemblers get formal training: North Atlantic Industries' in-house trainer certifies assemblers and testers against electronics assembly standards.

What critics are saying

  • Internships require local presence: the company explicitly excludes remote internships and places its program in Bohemia.
  • Engineering changes face strict controls: some customer programs require parts traceability and replacements matching the original configuration.
  • Long programs face parts shortages: the company warns unavailable components sometimes prevent repairs and calibration of obsolete products.

What makes North Atlantic Industries unique

  • North Atlantic Industries keeps production under one roof: its Bohemia facility combines circuit-board assembly, machining, testing and repairs.
  • The company avoids operating-system lock-in: integrators select Linux, Windows or their own system and mix third-party boards.
  • The company verifies wide temperature tolerance: design tests cycle electronics from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius.
