WHY CRITICAL HARMS?

As a Principal ML Engineer on Critical Harms, you’ll build systems to identify and address some of the highest-risk and most critical problems we face, including rare events with sparse data such as predatory behavior, child endangerment, extremism, fraud. Safety and Civility is Roblox’s #1 priority, and our mission is to protect our community.

You Will:

• Build systems to detect and address problematic behavior on Roblox. You will work on building and serving ML models to detect unsafe behavior, content and communication at scale.
• Define new investigation tool and lead generation model to help our investigation team, keep up to date with new threat on the platform
• Help define the team’s roadmap and long-term strategy towards keeping content and features on Roblox safe.
• Shape how the next generation of internet users interacts safely in the metaverse

You Have:

• 8+ years of experience in software development
• 5+ years of experience building and shipping products to production.
• 5+ years of experience identifying and driving solutions to difficult problems that span multiple teams and require deep technical expertise.
• 5+ years of demonstrated ability developing systems at scale.
• Proven experience shipping ML models in production.
• 5+ years experience using big data query/processing languages and tools such as SQL, Hive, Spark and Airflow
• Graduate degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or other technical field is a plus
