  • Consistent, effective use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor across the software development lifecycle, including providing context, iterating on outputs, and critically evaluating their quality and correctness.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex issues with limited guidance.
  • Working knowledge of systems integrated with native mobile applications, including REST APIs, backend services such as Java/Spring Boot, authentication patterns, and relational data models; understanding of mobile interactions with distributed systems and troubleshooting across integration points.
  • Demonstrated experience building native mobile applications using Android technologies such as Kotlin and Jetpack Compose and/or iOS technologies such as Swift and SwiftUI; familiarity with modern mobile architecture patterns, platform development tools, testing frameworks, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Comfort with Git workflows, branching strategies, and collaborative development practices.
  • Working knowledge of logging, metrics, and monitoring tools such as New Relic, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Ability to explain technical tradeoffs and status to teammates and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Contribute to prompt engineering experiments and share tool-usage insights with the team.
  • Participate in design and development discussions and help conceptualize desired outcomes from a software engineering perspective.
  • Provide technical input to estimates of features or elements, including resources, time, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Develop and implement unit and system tests for integral code paths while adhering to secure coding practices.
  • Troubleshoot and enhance existing and new features within application and system structures.
  • Use observability tools, including logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards, to monitor system health, diagnose issues, and validate production behavior after changes.
  • Document processes to capture best practices, applicable methodologies, and repeatability.
  • Update team members, the manager, product owners, and other key stakeholders on status, challenges, and concerns.
  • Participate in code reviews by giving and receiving feedback.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and drive it to completion with minimal oversight, stay engaged with teammates, raise blockers early, and contribute to shared team goals beyond assigned tasks.
  • Produce working software each sprint that meets the definition of done, delivers expected value, and stays within constraints defined by engineering leadership.
  • Maintain effective AI-augmented workflows that improve speed and quality, and share effective practices with the team.
  • Deliver maintainable, testable, and performant software that uses existing patterns, meets client needs, and supports consistent, meaningful estimates through understanding solution complexity.
  • Demonstrate measurable growth toward independent ownership of features and system elements.
  • Surface changes in direction that affect time, effort, cost, or scope promptly to the team and above.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, improvement, or learning and act on them with minimal guidance.
